Habersham County Schools Closed Wednesday, January 15, 2025
Once again, school system officials did a check of roadways.
Unfortunately, conditions are still poor on many mountain roads and even in southern areas of the county that are shaded.
We are dealing with a unique situation this week. Freezing rain fell on the snow and we have had no nights where temperatures are above freezing.
Our transportation department does not feel safe putting buses on the roads tomorrow.
As a result, all schools are closed on Wednesday, January 15.
I have been keeping students safe for 13 years with conservative weather decisions. That will not change now.
We will try to have school Thursday or Friday on a delay but there are no guarantees at this point.
Parents should prepare now for a possible delay or closure on Thursday.
