Friday night game

Habersham County Schools Closing, Thursday and Friday, September 26-27, 2024

School system officials participated in a briefing this afternoon with the National Weather Service.

Habersham County is under a Tropical Storm Warning. In addition, the governor has declared a state of emergency for all counties in Georgia.

Habersham County is expected to receive 10 to 15 inches of rain between tonight and Friday afternoon. In addition, wind gusts of 60 plus mph are expected as the storm arrives.

Widespread catastrophic flooding is expected starting tomorrow.

Numerous downed trees and power outages are also possible.

Due to these significant factors, all schools will be closed for students and staff on Thursday and Friday.

We urge everyone to use extreme caution if driving over the next two days.
